Bringing Banking Back to Bramhall
Bringing Banking Back to Bramhall: A Look Inside Our Latest Banking Hub Fit-Out
With the decline of traditional banks on high streets, many towns have found themselves without access to vital banking services. But thanks to a government-backed initiative, Banking Hubs are now being introduced across the UK to bridge that gap—and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing one to Bramhall, Stockport.
A Collaborative Start
Through a competitive tender process, Teesdale was appointed to work alongside Integral and Cash Access UK to transform a vacant unit in Bramhall into a fully functional Banking Hub. These hubs are shared spaces where multiple banks provide services on different days, offering residents the banking access they need, all under one roof.
From Vision to Action
Cash Access UK took the lead on selecting the site and worked with their preferred architects to develop the initial plans. Once we were brought on board, we costed the project and created a timeline based on those plans. After receiving the green light, we built a detailed Programme of Works (PoW), coordinating closely with contractors to ensure everything stayed on track.
What Happened On-Site
The transformation took just six weeks, but a lot happened in that time! We began with a full R&D asbestos survey and created a comprehensive Health & Safety plan. The unit, which still held the remains of two former occupants, was completely cleared out. Internal partition walls were removed to combine two separate spaces into a single, open-plan area—ideal for the Hub’s needs. A structural survey had already been carried out by the client during the design phase, giving us a solid foundation to begin the works.
A Team Effort
We kept things consistent by having the same Site Manager oversee the project from start to finish, ensuring clear communication and quality control. Our client received weekly updates, helping them stay informed and aligned with the schedule. As always, we called upon our network of trusted sub-contractors for key services like plumbing, electrical, and gas work.
The Build, Step by Step
Here’s a quick breakdown of the construction process:
-
Demolition & Site Clearance – Removing old contents and partition walls
-
First Fix – Joinery and mechanical groundwork
-
Second Fix – Installation of flooring, glazing, and further joinery and mechanical work
-
Finishing Touches – Painting, floor coverings, and final details
-
Handover – Delivering a completed, ready-to-use Banking Hub to the client
Teesdale is proud to have contributed to a project that supports communities by restoring access to vital banking services. We look forward to seeing the positive impact the Bramhall Banking Hub will have on its local residents.
